While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I experienced behind its doors was shocking and unacceptable on multiple levels .

The floorboards were filthy, and a nauseating aroma of old alcohol and neglected washrooms polluted the entire establishment . Smelling a mixture of excrement , old age and illness . The main bar, which should be the main attraction of any pub, was overflowing with soiled cups and trash that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks . The bathroom was in even more deplorable shape — spilling over , with a snapped lever and tiles smeared in what I can only assume was fecal matter .
It wasn’t just a isolated occurrence either. Based on the experiences shared online and speaking with locals , it seems that the state of cleanliness (or lack thereof) at Masterson’s is a persistent problem . Many customers have reported seeing bugs darting across the counter and proof of vermin in the bar and house area .
